I’m never one to see the temperature drop on the weather forecast and dejectedly pack my fall pieces away. No, I do everything I can to make the thinner jackets and skirts work well into winter. Layers are, again, key.
I really wanted to keep my short trench jacket around for awhile more, so I layered a thick sweater underneath. I decided to go with a big scarf that is within the same, neutral color palette to keep the look minimal and cut down the bulkiness.
For my skirt, I went with a thick, wool midi-skirt and added some warmth with the thick tights. The lace texture of the skirt broke up the heavy bottom. The patent, chunky soles added some height and tied the creamy greys together with the blacks, unifying the look. I accessorized with a newspaper-boy hat and a medium size shoulder bag.
Side note: this outfit received my boyfriend’s seal of approval (a rare occurrence, might I add).
