SNEAKERS GONE ROGUE

I’ve been loving the shift dress-sneakers duo. It is really the best of both worlds. The neutral palette of this look and the length of the dress make it appropriate for a casual night out, while the comfort is not compromised. Sneakers also allow for an entire day of walking and exploring or a whole night of dancing. These Adidas Superstar trainers have been my go-to this year, as demonstrated by how worn they look.

For a simple, relatively monochromatic look like this, there are many ways to spice things up. Textures are fun to play with. The shift dress is of a faux suede material, the criss-crosses at the neck prevent the loose-fitting look from being too casual. The leather-y panels on the dress and the leather cap clash with the soft sweater material of the blazer jacket.

A little trick to add a pop of colour to a dark outfit is to incorporate colourful accessories. I’ve chosen to tie a bright scarf around my wrist.
